Hi! My name is Alexa.
I am a children’s book author and illustrator from Utah. It's so nice to meet you!
I started my first sketchbook when I was 10 years old. I recently self published a wordless picture book titled "Recess Explorers", exploring the wonderful and whimsical imaginations of kids at the playground. I graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2D Media, focused on Illustration. I have worked with Weber State’s Health Science department as a medical illustrator to update diagrams for their open resource textbooks.
I am highly motivated, reliable, detail-oriented, and a great listener. I love animals, gardening, puzzles, and making art. I love the idea of illustration creating an enjoyable experience for a child that can encourage lifelong learning and a love of books, or just bringing a smile to someone’s face.
I love illustrating animals and plants (especially when the plants are characters too). I enjoy characters with lots of personality and fun expressions that I get to draw. I would love the opportunity to work with Scholastic, their bookfairs had a big impact on my love of books from a young age.
I'm always looking for new, exciting opportunities. Contact me today to discuss your project!
